Homekeep
Last updated: May 20, 2026
Homekeep ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the Homekeep mobile application.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and avatar color preference. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. When you use the app, we store the tasks, to-do items, shopping list entries, and calendar events you create. If you enable push notifications, we collect your device push notification token. If you purchase a subscription, our payment processor (RevenueCat, via Google Play Billing) processes the transaction and provides us with subscription status. We do not collect location data, contacts, or other sensitive device information.
We use your information to provide and improve the Homekeep service, including: authenticating your identity, syncing your data across devices, delivering push notifications for task reminders and overdue items, enabling real-time collaboration with household members, processing subscription purchases and renewals, and displaying advertisements to users on the free tier.
When you create or join a household, your display name, avatar, and all data within that household (tasks, to-do items, shopping lists, calendar events) are visible to all household members. Only members who have been invited and accepted can access household data. Household administrators can promote or demote other members and remove members from the household.
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by Supabase. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by row-level security policies that restrict access to authorized household members only. Guest mode data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is not transmitted to our servers.
Homekeep uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
• Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time sync
• Google Sign-In — account authentication
• Expo Notifications — push notification delivery
• Google AdMob — displays advertisements to free-tier users; may collect advertising identifiers and device information to deliver personalized or contextual ads
• RevenueCat — subscription management; processes purchase events from Google Play Billing and tracks subscription status
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot detection on signup and sign-in to protect against automated abuse
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal data with advertisers beyond what is technically necessary for AdMob to serve ads (e.g., advertising ID, general device info). You can reset or limit your advertising ID through your device's system settings.
Free-tier users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and limited device information (such as approximate location derived from IP address, device type, and language) to deliver relevant ads. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements. You can control ad personalization through your device's system settings (Google → Ads on Android). For more information, see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Homekeep offers an optional premium subscription processed through Google Play Billing and managed by RevenueCat. We do not see or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status, product identifiers, and renewal information so we can grant premium features to your household. Subscription events are logged for audit purposes.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Profile. Upon account deletion, your profile and personal data are permanently removed from our servers. Household data you contributed (tasks, to-do items, shopping items, calendar events) may remain visible to other household members so that the household continues to function. Households you created continue to exist after your departure if other members remain.
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data at any time. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you additionally have the right to: request a copy of your personal data, request restriction of processing, object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The legal basis for our processing is your consent (which you provide by creating an account) and the performance of our contract with you (providing the Homekeep service). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the "Report a Bug" feature in the app settings.
Homekeep is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union, where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action to remove it.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, row-level security policies on our database, and bot mitigation on account creation. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our third-party service providers may store and process data in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. By using Homekeep, you consent to the transfer of your data to these countries. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Homekeep after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please reach out through the "Report a Bug" feature in the app settings.
